Anirudha Srikkanth is a former Indian cricket widely renowned as the son of 1983 World Cup winner Krishnamachari Srikkanth. He was an attacking opening batter who played for various franchises in professional cricket leagues.

He played his maiden first-class game for Tamil Nadu in 2003-04 at the age of 16 in a Ranji Trophy. In the same month, he also made his List-A debut.

However, he didn’t taste much success in first-class but was excellent in the limited-overs format. He became the top run-getter for India in under-19s against England in 2004-05 and also was the highest run-scorer in the inter-state Twenty20 in 2007. He played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2008 to 2013 where against a team Deccan Chargers in the 2010 semi-finals, he made 24 runs off 15 deliveries. In 2012, he made 18 runs off 6 balls in a tight match against Rajasthan Royals. In 2014, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a thumping amount. However, he just gets to play only one game in that tournament. He then made 143 runs in an Under-19 game against England at Kanchanjungwa Krirangan in Siliguri in February 2005. England was batting first and made 228 runs for 9 in 50-overs. In reply, when India came out to bat, they lost wickets at constant intervals, Srikkanth was the one who played attacking cricket and took his side to a victory. He represented Tamil Nadu for the last time in February 2019. Following that, he missed their playing XI in the entire 2019-20 Indian domestic season. In the same year, he also represented Tiruppur Tamizhans in the popular Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019 season.

  • His performance in the inter-state Twenty20 in 2007, had put him on the list of 30 probables for the ICC World Twenty20 as well as the India Green squad in the 2007-08 Challenger Trophy.
