Zamroodh is an Indian dancer and choreographer who came into the limelight after contesting in Sony TV’s popular dance reality TV show ‘India’s Best Dancer: Season 2’ (2021).

Career


Passionate about dance since childhood, Zamroodh started participating in dance reality shows at a very young age. In 2012, he secured himself the opportunity to contest in the Malayalam reality TV show ‘Super Dancer Junior 5,’ which broadcast on Amrita TV.

He was a participant in the Kerala School Kalolsavam (2015).  Regulated by the General Education Department of the Government of Kerala, Kerala School Kalolsavam is a student fest held in Kerala that provides students with a platform to showcase their talent at the school level, sub-district level, district level, and state level.

In 2016, he made his film debut with a short appearance in the Indian Malayalam road-comedy film ‘Oru Muthassi Gadha.’

In October 2017, he started working as an assistant instructor at the dance academy Jobz & Sabz. In 2017, he joined a dance group which gave performances at Global Village UAE, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex in Dubai.

He appeared as a contestant in the Malayalam dance reality TV show Dance Kerala Dance (2019); the show aired on Zee Keralam. During the quarter finale of Dance Kerala Dance (2019), for the ‘Colours’ round, Zamroodh and his mentor Malavika Menon chose grey as their theme colour . In accordance with their theme colour, they performed on the topic of hazards of passive smoking. Exhibiting a strong social message, the contemporary act was immensely appreciated by both judges and audience. The act also earned them the title of the best performance of the day and the ‘Golden Ticket,’ i.e., direct entry to the finale. His appearance in Dance Kerala Dance (2019) turned out to be a breakthrough for him and earned him a loyal fanbase. Earing a cash prize of Rs. 7 lakhs, Zamroodh backed the position of first runner-up of the show.

Along with his choreographer Sonali Kar, Zamroodh appeared as a contestant on Sony TV’s dance reality TV show ‘India’s Best Dancer: Season 2’ on 16 October 2021.

  • His friends fondly call him Zami. Additionally, due to his exquisite dance skills, he has earned the names South Indian Superstar and King of expressions.
