In 2012, he made his debut as a contestant in the TV dating show ‘MTV Splitsvilla’ season 5.

Controversies
Legal Notice by the Makers
In 2013, he left the Hindi TV serial ‘Qubool Hai’ midway without informing the makers of the show. The makers then sent him a legal notice for breaching the contract, which they already had with Rishabh. According to some media sources,
Leaving a show for another without informing anyone is uncalled for. It’s least expected of an actor to treat his debut show in such an unprofessional manner. He has stopped reporting on the set and had also misbehaved with the producers and channel officials. The channel has decided to take strict action against breach of contract.”
Dispute with a Co-Actor
In 2013, while he was shooting for the Hindi TV serial ‘Qubool Hai,’ he had a spat with his co-star Digangana Suryavanshi, and later, Digangana was asked to leave the show. However, in 2015, while Rishabh and Digangana were in the Bigg Boss house as contestants, the duo solved the issues amongst themselves.
