Shivranjani Shakti Singh is an Indian playback singer. She came into the limelight after winning a reality television singing contest named Hannah Montana–The Big Pop Star Dream on Disney Channel in 2008.

Shivranjani Shakti Singh was born on 27 August 1994 in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh in India. She is also known by her stage name ‘Shivi.’ Shivranjani graduated from Mithibai College affiliated to University of Mumbai.

Shivi’s father, Shakti Singh, is an Indian Cricketer and a playback singer. He was a government official and after retirement; he became a match referee and Bollywood playback singer. Shakti Singh used to sing the songs of Kishore Kumar and Mohammad Rafi regularly. Her mother, Bala Singh, is an entrepreneur who is known for her initiatives in the environment.

Career


Shivranjani had an interest in music, dancing, and acting events in her school days from her childhood. In 2008, she has taken part in a popular singing contest, Hannah Montana–The Big Pop Star Dream. This contest was hosted on Disney Channel. Fortunately, she became the winner of this contest by defeating two lakh candidates at 13. Her winning prize included meeting the cast of Hannah Montana on a trip to Los Angeles, seeing the shooting of an episode, and a Gibson guitar signed by Miley Cyrus. On her birthday, she met Miley Cyrus.

Shivi sang her first debut song, ‘Solah Baras ki’ for the film ‘Sixteen’ in 2013. She sang two songs namely, ‘Lalla Lalla Lori’ and ‘Boat Ma’ with Mika Singh for the film, “Welcome 2 Karachi.” After that, she sang ‘Baby Modern Modern’ with Sonu Nigam for the film “Baankey Ki Crazy Baraat.” Shivranjani sang ‘I Wanna Tera Ishq’ for the film “Great Grand Masti.” She stated she got the best of both worlds as she herself was into western music but his dad also trained her in Indian Classical music. Shivranjani sang her first solo song ‘Love To Hate You’ for the film “Hate Story 3” with Amaal Mallik. Being a joyful singer, Shivi once stated that she is a huge fan of Urvashi Rautela.

She became delighted to know that the song ‘I Wanna Tera Ishq’ pictured her favorite heroine. Shivranjani has worked with some renowned music directors like Rochak Kohli, Sajid-Wajid, Ankit Tiwari, Sanjeev-Darshan, and Amaal Malik. Shivranjani’s item song, ‘Oh Boy’ from the movie “Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3” was released on 1 January 2016. This song is composed by Sajid-Wajid. She also sang the title track, ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ of this movie with Benny Dayal. Sajid-Wajid noticed her talent when she was singing for the film, “Welcome 2 Karachi” and after that, she accompanied them on a world tour of the United States of America. Shivranjani Shakti Singh also worked with a Florida based producer, MorrisCode. She sang the songs, ‘Feed My Soul’ and ‘Once Upon a Time’ with him. She sang the song, ‘Suku Suku’ for the movie “Tutak Tutak Tutiya.” This song is directed by Sajid-Wajid and got released in 2016. Shivi sang this song in three languages namely Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu because the film got released in three languages.


Acting


Shivranjani Singh appeared as an actress in the film ‘Side A Side B’ which was released in 2017. This movie is a musical love story shot on a moving train. The lead roles in this movie are played by Shivranjani Singh and Rahul Rajkhowa.
