In 2016, when he was seventeen years old, he got selected for the Australian A team. In 2017, he played the 2017 Blind T20 World Cup as a part of the Australian blind cricket team, and he became the youngest player in the team. In 2017, he made his first century in the National Cricket Inclusion Championships for the Western Australia club.

In May 2022, he played the International Cricket Inclusion Series against the New Zealand national blind cricket team.

  • Steffan was born with congenital nystagmus. In an interview, he said that he was totally blind at the time of birth. He further said,

    When I was young, I was actually very blind. I couldn’t see a metre in front of me, but I hit my head and I actually got better sight.”





  • He used to play cricket with healthy kids when he was young, but he stopped playing after his vision started to worsen. He went through involuntary eye movement.



  • When he was twelve years old, he was interested in playing goalball.
