Suresh Albela is an Indian poet (Hasya Kavi) and stand-up comedian. He is the winner of the TV comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ (2008).

Career
Suresh started his career as a stand-up comedian and poet. He used to perform in various kavi sammelans in Rajasthan and other nearby states. In an interview, while talking about starting his career as a hasya kavi, he said,
I started participating in stage shows and kavi sammelans with the intention of attracting the attention of Television directors. Finally I got a call from assistant director Hemant Sharma for the auditions of ‘Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ and was selected.”

In 2007, he auditioned for the TV reality comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge,’ but could not clear the audition round. He again participated in the fourth season of the same show and finished as the winner of the title. The show was aired on Star One.

In the show, his Sanskrit description of the Indian actress Mallika Sherawat became very popular.

Received Death Threats
In 2017, he took a dig at the self-proclaimed Indian godman Asaram Bapu in one of his comedy shows. Reportedly, his jokes were not well received by the followers of Asaram, and they started giving him death threats.
