Deepu Srivastava



Deepu Srivastava is an Indian actor and standup comedian who has participated in several comedy shows, which were broadcasted on national television. Deepu is the younger sibling of Raju Srivastava, a famous comedian, who died on 21 September 2022.

Deepu Srivastava was born on Thursday, 9 April 1970 (age 52 years; as of 2022) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Aries. After completing his schooling, Deepu Srivastava pursued his higher education at Kanpur University, where he completed his graduation in 1993.

Comedy


Deepu Srivastava’s career began in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where he used to perform standup comedy till 1998. In 1998, Deepu Srivastava shifted to Mumbai with his elder brother Raju Srivastava. Deepu Srivastava got a major break in 2007 when he took part in Funjabbi Chak De, a comedy show that was aired on Star One. Deepu Srivastava appeared alongside Raju Srivastava in Dangal TV’s 2009 comedy show Raju Hazir Ho. Deepu Srivastava also took part in the Bhojpuri comedy show Laughter Express. In 2012, at the invitation of the news channel LIVE India, Deepu Srivastava performed standup comedy on their show.

In 2017, Deepu Srivastava participated in two comedy shows, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and Comedy Ka Badsshah – Hasegaa India, which were respectively aired on StarPlus and Sony Entertainment Television.

In 2018, before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, News18 India invited Deepu Srivastava to perform standup comedy and mimic famous Indian politicians on their show Lapete Me Neta Ji.

Deepu Srivastava contested in the Laughter Show, which was a comedy show that was aired on StarPlus in 2019. In 2020, Deepu Srivastava was invited by the motorcycle manufacturing company Hero MotoCorp to partake in a standup comedy show organised by the company for their corporate event.

Film


Deepu Srivastava made his acting debut with the 2009 Bollywood comedy film Meri Padosan. In the film, he played the character of a gay.

In the 2010 Hindi film Hello Darling, Deepu Srivastava worked as an actor alongside famous Bollywood actors like Javed Jaffrey and Isha Koppikar. In the same year, Deepu Srivastava worked with the Indian comedian Sunil Pal in the Bollywood film Bhavnao Ko Samjho. In 2012, Deepu Srivastava landed a role in the Hindi film Money Back Guarantee. Deepu Srivastava acted in the 2018 Hindi crime thriller film Vodka Diaries. In the 2021 Hindi short film Speed Dial, Deepu Srivastava acted alongside the well-known Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade.
